OYEBOOK.

Privacy

OyeBook is a WhatsApp assistant for everyday errands: mobile and DTH recharges, electricity, gas, water and broadband bills, cabs, couriers, travel and insurance. It is published by OyePlay. Our WhatsApp number +91 83569 02473 answers to the display name Oye Play. The same number also runs Adda, a family Tambola and quiz game; there is a section for that at the bottom. Last updated 28 September 2026.

What we collect

  • Your WhatsApp number and profile name, because WhatsApp sends them with every message and we need them to reply.
  • The messages you send us, meaning what you typed, what you said in a voice note, and what a photo of a bill turned out to say.
  • Numbers you ask us to remember: a mobile, DTH or consumer number, the nickname you gave it ("mummy"), its operator and the amount you usually pay. These are stored against a one-way hash of your own number, not against the number itself.
  • A record of each thing you asked for: the recharge or bill, the amount, what the operator answered, and the reference number, so you can be shown it later and so a payment can be traced if something goes wrong.
  • Addresses you give us for a task: a pickup and drop for a cab, an address for a courier. Only the ones you type or pin yourself.

No app install, no account, no password.

What we never keep

  • The audio of a voice note. It is sent to the transcriber, turned into text, and never written to our disk.
  • The image of a bill. Same: read, used, not stored. We keep what it said, which is the biller, the amount and the due date. Not the picture.
  • Card numbers, UPI PINs, bank details. Paying happens inside WhatsApp and Razorpay's own screens. Those details never reach us, and we could not store them if we wanted to.

What we never ask for

Your contacts, your microphone, your camera roll, your background location, or your other WhatsApp chats. We cannot read a WhatsApp group and do not try to. A voice note or a photo reaches us only because you chose to send that one message.

Who else sees a part of it

Only what a task needs, only when you ask for that task.

Meta (WhatsApp)Carries every message, in both directions
AnthropicReads your message to work out what you want; reads a bill photo
Sarvam AI (India)Turns a voice note into text. OpenAI is the fallback if Sarvam is unavailable
RazorpayTakes the payment
A BBPS agent, and your operator or billerThe recharge or bill itself: the consumer number and the amount
OpenStreetMap, Ola MapsTurns an address you typed into a location, for a cab or a courier
Shiprocket, redBus, travel partnersOnly for a courier, bus or travel booking you asked for

Cab and flight links are only links. When we send you an Uber, Ola, Rapido, Cleartrip, MakeMyTrip or EaseMyTrip link, nothing about you is sent to them by us. Tapping it opens their app or site, and from that point their own privacy policy applies. We earn no commission on a cab, and we say so in the chat.

We do not sell anything to anyone, and we run no advertising on this number.

Where it is kept

On one server in Singapore, rented from Fly.io. That means your data leaves India. We say so plainly because you cannot choose otherwise by using this number. If that is not acceptable to you, please do not use it.

How long we keep it

A record of something you paid for is kept until you ask us to delete it. There is no automatic purge, and we would rather tell you that than claim a schedule we do not run. A recharge you made six months ago can still be looked up, which is the point: it is how a payment gets traced when an operator disputes it.

Game data is different and does delete itself. See below.

WhatsApp messages

Our number only replies to people who message it first, and only inside the 24 hours after they do. Send STOP and it stops for good until you write again. We never message anyone who has not written to us, and we never send to groups.

When a person reads your message

If you ask for a human, or if something goes wrong with your money, your message is put in a queue that a person at OyePlay reads. That queue holds your WhatsApp number, your profile name and what you wrote. Nothing else is shown to a person by default.

What we measure

Counts, for working out whether this thing pays for itself: how many recharges were asked for, which operators, how many voice notes were understood, what the messages cost. These records carry no phone numbers. Where we need to know whether a photo contained a number, we record only that one did, never which.

Money

You are shown the amount before anything is charged, and nothing is paid without your "haan" in the chat. If a recharge fails, the money is refunded in full. If we cannot tell whether it succeeded, we say exactly that and check with the operator rather than guess. We will not tell you it worked when we do not know.

Getting your data removed

  • Write yaad on WhatsApp to see every number we have saved for you, and tap Sab hatao to delete all of them at once.
  • Send STOP to stop all messages.
  • To have everything removed, saved numbers and past orders and the lot, email rajat2387@gmail.com from any address and give the WhatsApp number to delete, or just ask for a human on the number itself.

One thing we cannot delete: a completed payment has a record at Razorpay and at your bank, and those are not ours to erase.

Adda, the game on the same number

Write ADDA or QUIZ and the same number hands you a link to a web game for families. Playing needs no phone number at all: a display name you type yourself, a random session cookie so your seat survives a refresh, and the game state. The name is not verified and is not identity.

Adda has no payments, no wagering, no prizes and no redeemable points. Tambola is a game of chance; teams and scores do not change that.

A lobby nobody started24 hours
A challenge waiting for the other family48 hours
A finished match in detail7 days
A shared result (squads and scores only)30 days

After that it is deleted. A result card you downloaded stays on your own phone. That copy is yours. Guest sessions are anonymous and expire; Adda cannot prove one human per ticket, and does not claim to.
